How we work

Media, Entertainment and Sports with a business mindset

Media, entertainment and sports involve complex contracts: image rights, sponsorships, broadcasting, licensing and representation. Every clause affects the earnings, career and reputation of those involved.

We advise artists, athletes, influencers, agents, production companies, clubs, event organizers and sponsoring brands on negotiating and structuring these deals, including the taxation of income and asset protection.

We also support the conversion of clubs into football corporations (SAF), fundraising through incentive laws and the international careers of athletes and sports professionals.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Media, Entertainment and Sports

How does an image rights assignment work?

It is a contract by which the holder authorizes the use of their image for a defined term, territory and purpose in exchange for payment. Taxation depends on who receives the payment and how the deal is structured.

What is a SAF?

The football corporation (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol), created by Law 14,193/2021, allows clubs to operate as companies, receive investment and adopt their own governance and debt payment rules.

Do athletes moving abroad need a tax exit?

As a rule, yes. Filing a definitive departure avoids Brazilian taxation of income earned abroad and reduces the risk of double taxation.
